No Milijas is still around, i had him tutoring Veratti, gave him an improved contract. Strange and thing is that he has dropped his shooting skills from 20 to 19 despite me having top staff and i think well set training. Could be i often put +23 players on secondary role training so i have a flexible team and bench.

For tactics i vary between a 4-4-2 with Djuric in an OML/O-playmaker role(Jarvis on the other side as a MR). Playing better teams i there for set Elokobi or Lumb to defensive. Sometimes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and my other coaches reminds me that the opponents play not so good against 4-5-1 lineups, so i also play a 4-1-3-2 with Sandro in a DM role set to defensive, centrally in front of him set to try and win the ball him i play Smiljanic, Henry or Morgan Scneiderlin, centrally on the sides of this balancing CM, Veratti, Milijas, or Shelvey.

I used to have lots of problems with morale, but all that changed after a post i read at the FM-Sweden site. I follow this 100%... If we are predicted to win i never give a team speak. If we are underdogs i wish them good luck.If we are winning in half time there's never a team talk, only a disappointed or prove your right individually. If we are down, if still a draw, and the opponents have more possession shots on goal etc. disapointed. After the games eaven if we lose i set team talk to pleased. Individuals who perform with ratings lower than 6 i dive a disappointed saying to. Individuals who get over 7.8 rating i rave and say fantastic to. I always remember to mention them to the press aswell. This really works. It brings extraordinary morale to any squad. Its actually fun to see how disappointed and unsettled players have a green morale arrow straight up anyway ;)

@Matereo: Smiljanic for half a million is a real bargain! Francisco Javier Chica sounds like someone I should check out considering I need backup in the LB and RB roles. Thanks for the suggestion, I think I might write a post in the near future regarding team management and morale. Cheers Matereo, always good to hear from another Wolves manager. Btw, did Milijas leave your club after the 1st season?

Forgot to mention that i managed to pick up Argentinian defender Nicolas Buridissio (ex Juve??) on a free transfer... A really good defender that passes the ball better than the stats will tell.

Its interesting to see how things develop in your Wolves game. I had a pretty similar start and had a 2nd table position in November. Now its march and we are down to fourth... Man C has five points up but one game less played. I think my transfer sum was 32.5m£ that and the fact that i sold Kightly to Juventus for 11m£ Gave me the opportunity to significantly strengthen the squad. The first signing i made was Brazilian DM, MC Sandro...

I always check my real life favorite clubs and for DM backup i found Milan Smiljanic who'd probably had differences with the Espanyol management and was listed for 500£!!?? Not long ago he scored the winning goal vs. Arsenal in the league cup final, and hes a consistent performer despite some personal trouble settling in;) While eying Espanyol i found a perfect fullback bench man in Francisco Javier Chica who plays both sides very well.
Sandro and fellow Brazilian striker Defederico were where most money went... Purchased a few well scouted talents aswell, among them Jonjo Shelvey, who apart from shooting and the free kicks has exellent stats.

When pre season began i was happy to find two regen players with top stats in the wolves youth draft, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is my assistant and my best scout predicts them as four star players. First season most players looked up to Nenad Milijas, but this seasoon its Ebanks Blake that is the big star of the team, so far this season he has scored 20 goals and assisted five.

The corners are still a bitch, since none of the defenders have that special ability that Berra, Shawcross, Mexes and other goalscoring defenders seem to possess. Sandro is my best choice header, Veratti my corner taker.

How do you handle morale, teamtalks, and it would be fun hearing something about what staff you've appointed.

@Lye: Hey Lye, I will heed your advice, and make sure players who are tired will be well rested. I am really glad the young players are stepping up though, they are really ideal for home games against the weaker teams.

@Laxeyman: Hi Laxeyman! Your blog is one of those that I read before I started my own blog, and how great it is to see a new face commenting on my site (: Thank you for your well wishes, hope to see you around often!

@Ziggy: Hey Ziggy! I haven't tried the new 10.3 patch yet, but after what you mentioned, I might just install it the moment I get home from work. I am crossing my fingers that no major injuries happen as we are about to reach the halfway point in the season.

@Kevin: Hey mate. I totally agree with your point of view. That's football for you. If the better team always wins, and david can never beat goliath, soccer wouldn't be as exciting as it is. As a fan, we live for the moments where the unexpected happens. Thank you for your well wishes. It would be amazing if we really win the title this year.

Hi Jason
You are doing very well indeed to get Wolves into second place. I can fully understand your frustration and for the most part agree with you. Just to add some balance I've seen countless games in real life when one team camps out in the opponents half but the ball just won't go in and then the other team scores. That's the way football is...unfortunately. Don't get dis-heartened I think you have a great chance at the title the way your team is playing.
