A New Beginning With The Magpies

Hi guys, this is the FM Guru speaking, and in this post, I will officially announce our first official contributor to FMGuru, hopefully for a long time to come. Warren has impressed with me with his immense dedication to writing Football Manager blog posts. In addition he was really prompt in submitting articles to be published on this site. Without further ado, I give you Warren, and I hope the many people who have followed my blog posts, will find his to be just as entertaining! Here’s a little introduction he has given me about himself in his email:

Hi, I am Warren and

I started playing Football Manager in 2007 when a few friends had told me that it was a really good game. I had previously played Total Club Manager 2004 and before that I had Championship Manager 2001-02 but with the age that I was I didn’t really understand the game but now that I am 17 I can get into the game a bit more and I understand it better.

My team that I support in real life is the same team that I had got my blog about. I have supported Newcastle all my life and have had a season ticket for the last three seasons. Although the ticket didn’t give me much pleasure last season I am really enjoying the season in the Championship. I love playing football manager as it gives me such enjoyment in playing and I love getting right into detail of the game and feeling like your as good as or even better than Ferguson, Wenger or Mourinho.

I think that their is nothing better in a game than winning a trophy with your favorite team or taking a team right from the bottom league and taking them to the top. This would give me such enjoyment as a blogger to write as a contributor.

Hi everyone and welcome to my new football manager site and also to my new season as Newcastle United manager. If you want to have a look at previous posts check out http://nufctnt.blogspot.com/ for information on my last two seasons. In this posts today I will talk about the transfers that I have made and the players that I have sold you will also get a look at my preferred starting XI before I finish this post with the pre-season friendlies.

Transfers Out

I sold quite a few players before my third season as I think that these were the players that haven’t really performed when I have been the Newcastle manager. The most noticeable deals are probably the sale of Alan Smith, Nicolas Burdisso, Tim Krul and Shola Ameobi I decided to sell these players as I thought that I could improve my squad with more money and these were really only fringe players.

I decided to only loan Kadar because I think that me has quite a bright future and I wanted him to gain experience at another club. Finally I decided to sell players like Best, Xisco, Williamson and Ranger because I didn’t think that they could cut it in the Premiership.

Transfers In

I brought in 8 new players seven of which were permanent deals and one was a loan for a whole season. I was pretty pleased with the transfers that I had made and I thought that we could do better than last season and qualify for Europe.

Darren Bent

Formally a Sunderland player I decided to sign Bent because I have always felt that he is a good goalscorer and hopefully he will be able to be a 20 goal a season striker. He has good pace and acceleration this will hopefully grab him a few goals over the course of the season.

Thiago Motta

I think that this was the best signing of all of the players both his technical and mental attributes are very good and he is very experienced so will hopefully play well once he is settled in as my defensive midfielder.

Eduardo

Another very good signing I thought Eduardo was sitting in the Arsenal Reserves when I placed a bid in for him and I was delighted when he signed. He will be used as the teams poacher as him finishing and composure and excellent and at only £3.5 million I think this could be signing of the season.

Charles Kabore

Will be used as back up in midfield and hopefully in the future as him stats aren’t particularly brilliant but hopefully his stats will progress over the course of the season.

John Mensah

Another former Sunderland employee but only be used as back up as I think that Taylor and Coloccini are better players but Mensah could still prove me wrong.

Albin Ekdal (Loan)

Ekdal was used as a loan deal from Juventus and he looks like one of the future I will be keeping an eye on him and could be a possible purchase in the future if he plays well.

Marco Verratti

I am really excited with this purchase as Verratti has been described as a bit of a wonderkid from many other bloggers and is one I am really looking forward to seeing on the pitch.

Preferred Starting XI

Playing in a diamond formation I believe that this is my strongest line up and hopefully they can justify this in the up and coming months.

Pre-Season Friendlies

Football Manager 2010 Screenshots

I was pretty pleased with the results in my pre-season with 5 wins from 7 games the only two slip up were against Celtic and FC Twente. I was impressed with Darren Bent in these games and hope that he could keep his run going for as long as possible.

How will we fare for the new season? Stay tuned, as we are almost set to kick off the new season!
